I have always been a strictly lip balm lass but over the last year I have become obsessed with lipsticks and the matte variety in particular.
So let’s get started on some of the lippy’s that make me swoon….
1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria
2. Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect
3. Mac Mehr
4. Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anita
5. Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in F Bomb
Where do I start? The packaging?…..oh go on then! The stunning rose gold packaging on Charlotte’s lipsticks are a makeup lover’s dream. They look so beautiful and have a vintage feel to them.
Ok enough of the packaging and onto the product. Although this is a Matte lipstick I find this very hydrating and gives the most beautiful finish which wears well. I adore this lipstick. it is by far my favourite lipstick ever! It is so versatile; you can wear a light coat every day for a natural look or build up the layers and team it with a smokey eye and BOOM!
Oh my how I adore Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks and this shade is ‘perfect’ …see what I did there?? Ahem, so yes this is a beautiful shade and one of my most used for Brides.
The K.I.S.S.I.N.G range is said to be “enriched with a breakthrough, secret ingredient, the Lipstick Tree, an anti-oxidant that naturally protects lips from UV damage and external pollution leaving them cashmere soft and irresistible. Blended with special waxes and clever light-diffusing pigments for pert, full-bodied, ultra-brilliant lips that ensure you leave a lasting impression!”
I couldn’t agree more with the above. This lipstick has a beautifully soft formation and feels so comfortable on the lips, It is slightly warm toned pink and Charlotte herself has descried this as ‘the inside of a marshmallow pink’ that is a great description of this beautifully dreamy pink shade which suits all skin tones.
Not much to say on the packaging of Mac lipsticks, we all know the trusty bullet shaped packaging and I am sure we all have several in our make up bag.
My love affair for Mac Mehr started in the autumn when I wasn’t quite ready to give up on the idea of summer and wanted a good transition shade…..in came Mr Mehr.
Mehr is described by Mac as a ‘dirty blue pink’and is one of their Matte lipsticks. I would recommedn using a lipscrub before applying this lipstick as you want to make sure you have no dry skin – having said that, I would do this before applying all lipsticks for my clients.
This is an every day shade as it is very subtle and like ‘Bitch Perfect will suit most skin tones. It is very long lasting and although a matte finish, it has a craamy feel to it.

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anita
I have a few of the Audacious Lipsticks because I adore the longevity, coverage and feel of these beautiful lipsticks.
One of these babies made it into my top 5 lipsticks and by a mile….her name is Anita. Anita is a cool toned mauvey nude described as an ‘antique rose’ and I fell in love on the first swipe. You do not need to layer these lipsticks up, they are super pigmented and one swipe of these bad boys and you have a beautiful opaque pinky-mauvey sexy lip on!
The finish is creamy and doesn’t dry the lips out and also does not go into the creases of my lip. I love the sleek black packaging and the magnetic closure. Beautiful!

Urban Decay Cream Vice Lipstick in F Bomb
The Vice lipsticks are a very recent launch and I was lucky enough to be invited to a VIP Masterclass at the Covent Garden store just under 2 weeks ago. I will be uploading a blog on the event next week so stay tuned J
So, my favourite lipstick from the collection was the Cream lipstick in F Bomb. Lets just start on the formula and what make these such a dreamy, creamy formula. The formula is incredibly hydrating and leaves my lips soft. Most likely as the following are included; Aloe vera, jojoba, avocado and babassu oils. Oh and Vitamin C and vitamin E are thrown in the mix too!
I am not too fussed on the packaging but the formula itself more than makes up for that.
If cream lipsticks aren’t your thing then the Vice collection also comes in Mega Matte, Confort Matte, Metallized, sheer and sheer shimmer.
